Mr. Haspel serves as CFPB's senior expert in residential mortgage servicing and securitization, overseeing policy and research initiatives. Prior to joining CFPB, he was the Director of Asset Management and Servicer Monitoring at Ginnie Mae, where he was responsible for monitoring and surveillance of Ginnie Mae's servicers and management of defaulted issuer portfolios.
Before joining Ginnie Mae, he was a Senior Director at Capital One where he was responsible for the held-for-investment whole loan mortgage portfolio. Prior to that, he has held senior positions in structured finance, servicing and capital markets at Fannie Mae, BlackRock, GE Capital and National Cooperative Bank. He has over 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry and holds a B.S. from Georgetown University and a M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
