TRENDS AND OUTLOOK FROM FORECLOSURE PREVENTION TO REO
Foreclosure inventories are declining, yet REO pipelines are still full. Why? Which foreclosure trends are plaguing servicers the most, and what are servicers doing to work around them? This panel of experts will explore the current obstacles that are keeping servicers from reducing REO backlogs in today's market—from judicial state foreclosures to shadow housing inventory and 90+ day delinquent homes.
In doing so, they will discuss the effectiveness of different methods for clearing REO pipelines, from short sales and REO-to-Rental programs, to assistance programs and other new tools like data and technology that can help shift distressed properties into stable homeownership. As part of their evaluation of current foreclosure trends and solutions, they will analyze the types of properties most likely to turn around in today’s environment. They will also provide an outlook for the default servicing industry as foreclosure inventory and delinquency levels lower to a housing market that begins to perform closer to historical norms.
