Mike Anderson last week resigned as vice president of government affairs for the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.
Anderson delivered the news in an email to National Mortgage News and by posting a video on the Internet. He could not be reached for comment Tuesday morning.
NAMB president Don Frommeyer also could not be reached for comment.
The trade group is down to a handful of members, and no longer has a permanent headquarters. Most of its lobbying is done through an outside firm, D.C. Strategies, which is headed by former NAMB executive Roy DeLoach.
Anderson heads Essential Mortgage, a firm based in the New Orleans area. In 2010 he was named 'Broker of the Year' by NAMB and was in line to eventually become its president.
