Anderson delivered the news in an email to National Mortgage News and by posting a video on the Internet. He could not be reached for comment Tuesday morning.
NAMB president Don Frommeyer also could not be reached for comment.
The trade group is down to a handful of members, and no longer has a permanent headquarters. Most of its lobbying is done through an outside firm, D.C. Strategies, which is headed by former NAMB executive Roy DeLoach.
Anderson heads Essential Mortgage, a firm based in the New Orleans area. In 2010 he was named 'Broker of the Year' by NAMB and was in line to eventually become its president.
