The Mortgage Industry Equity Composite went in the opposite direction of the Dow Jones Industrial Average on Monday. The Dow ended the day up 18.89 points, while out of the 17 stocks on the MIEC, 11 were losers.
For the second straight trading session, Ellie Mae was the leading gainer on a percentage basis, according to Yahoo Finance, up 1.56%, followed by Fidelity National Financial, up 1.51%. The other gainers were Astoria Financial, Bank of Hawaii, Redwood Trust and Home Loan Servicing Solutions.
Last Friday, there were reports that EverBank is a significant contributor to an upcoming Redwood Trust securitization.
Kaufman & Broad had the worst performance on the day, down 1.53%, followed by Radian, Bank of America and MGIC.
