This brings total issuance in this area for 2012 to $33.1 billion, confirming expectations that Fannie multifamily capital markets executive Kimberly Johnson shared earlier with this publication that it would easily exceed 2011’s $23.8 billion.
In addition to the multifamily securities backed by new loans, Fannie found it resecuritized a total of $13.9 billion in multifamily delegated underwriting and servicing mortgage-backed securities through its Guaranteed Mortgage Structures/Alternative Credit Enhancement Securities efforts in 2012.
