Once again MGIC Investment Corp. was the best performing stock in the Mortgage Industry Equity Composite, and possibly one of the best overall performing stocks on Friday.

The private mortgage insurer’s $387 million fourth-quarter loss did not scare off investors, as the stock finished 27.18% higher.

Its competitor Radian Group continued a run of breaking its 52-week high, finishing up 4.09%. Ellie Mae was up 3.89%. The same companies were the top three performers on Thursday.

Meanwhile, another technology firm, Fiserv, posted the biggest percentage loss from Thursday, down 0.9%. Title insurer Fidelity National Financial was down 0.52% and Astoria Financial down 0.51%.
