A pair of mortgage origination firms are opening new loan production offices in the north Dallas area, a region which has been associated with the servicing business.

First, online lender loanDepot LLC is opening an office in Plano and promises to add 500 jobs there over the next three years.

"The decision to grow in Plano significantly advances loanDepot's strategic growth plans to continue to be a top residential mortgage lender in the country," said loanDepot CEO Anthony Hsieh.

"The favorable tax positions offered by the City of Plano and the State of Texas create a competitive advantage for loanDepot and its shareholders that will allow us to continue to drive great value for our customers."

Plano will be a dual headquarters for loanDepot, along with its current headquarters in Foothill Ranch, Calif. It also has offices in Brentwood, Tenn., and Scottsdale, Ariz. In January, loanDepot had a job fair to add 100 people to the Scottsdale office.

Operations will commence in April. The company is hosting a job fair on March 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Westin Stonebriar in Frisco, Texas.

Separately, Indianapolis-based Stonegate Mortgage is opening an office which it said will be initially located in Addison, Texas.

The senior branch manager is Gary Coffman, who has over 15 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry.

In addition, working at this branch will be sales manager Brian McCary and mortgage advisor Biddle Medley.

“It is indicative of Stonegate’s tremendous growth in the retail market that has allowed our company to extend business in a popular Dallas market,” senior vice president of retail mortgage lending Mark Etchison said.

Stonegate has been adding executives recently for both originations and servicing.
