Attorneys Win Recognition
The American Legal and Financial Network said two member firms recently received awards at the recent mortgage services attorneys summit in Anaheim, Calif.
AMC Mortgage Services, formerly Ameriquest Mortgage Corp., presented the award for best timeline management in a judicial state to Godlbeck McCafferty & McKeever, based in Pennsylvania. The award for best timeline management in a non-judicial state went to Stephens, Millirons, Harrison & Gammons, an Alabama firm.
Matt Bartel, executive director of the AFN, said the organization is excited to recognize the two firms.
"All members of the AFN are the best of the best among legal service providers within the financial services industry, and each member firm of the AFN is dedicated to providing the very best in legal representation, including timeline performance."
Separately, the AFN said that 12 of its member attorneys recently participated in an advanced consumer bankruptcy practice institute sponsored by the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees. The event will be held Feb. 24-25 at the University of New Mexico.
The participants will join a select group of trustees, their staff attorneys, debtors attorneys and creditors counsel. The goal of the gathering is to assess the impact of recently enacted changes to the bankruptcy laws.
William LeRoy, CEO of AFN, said the participation of AFN members is an example of how the group "continues to expand our working relationship with the NACTT and all industry stakeholders."
