San Francisco-LoanPerformance, a subsidiary of First American Real Estate Solutions, said that Dan Berman has been named chief operating officer.

Mr. Berman joined LoanPerformance in 2005 after serving as vice president, mortgage information technology, national accounts, for the Western region at First American RES.

Prior to joining First American, he held executive business development, sales, marketing and general management positions at DSFI, Office Solutions, Merisel and Van Son.

Walnut Creek-PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. said that Karen King joined the company as vice president of national account operations.

She will be responsible for operations, risk management and growth of PMI's national accounts, as well as lender loan program approval and development of customer solutions.

Ms. King was a director of risk and underwriting management at Fannie Mae, where she was responsible for evaluation of customer financial and portfolio performance and new business opportunities.


Washington-The Mortgage Bankers Association said that Steve O'Connor has been promoted to senior vice president, public policy.

Mr. O'Connor joined MBA in 1996 as senior director for single-family housing. Previously he served as vice president for industry relations and policy development.

Before joining MBA, Mr. O'Connor held positions in government affairs with the National Association of Realtors and Freddie Mac. He also worked for the former Skyline Financial Services Corp.


East Rutherford-Cushman & Wakefield has promoted Curtis Foster of its East Rutherford office to the position of executive director.

Mr. Foster has been a member of Cushman & Wakefield since 1985 as an office leasing specialist.

As a landlord representative, he currently serves as leasing agent for ING's Metropolitan Center in East Rutherford.


New York-Hypo Real Estate Capital Corp. has appointed Michael J. Krull as managing director, head of CMBS.

In his new role, Mr. Krull will be responsible for managing the newly constituted commercial mortgage-backed securities group at Hypo Real Estate Capital.

Prior to joining Hypo Real Estate Capital, he worked as managing director, capital markets at GE Real Estate in New York. From 1992 to 1997, he worked at Prudential Securities Inc., where he co-founded the CMBS effort and most recently was a director in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group.

New York-Moody's Investors Service has named two to the position of managing director within its commercial mortgage-backed securities group.

Nicholas Levidy joined Moodys in 1998 as a vice president/senior analyst. He was promoted to vice president/senior credit officer in July 2004 and to senior vice president in July 2005.

Prior to joining Moody's, he was a senior counsel for real estate and corporate finance with PNC Bank. Prior to that, he served as a real estate attorney for several government agencies and private law firms.

Paolo Obias joined Moody's in 1997. From 1999-2001, he worked in our Moody's Tokyo office. He was promoted to senior vice president in July 2003.

Prior to joining Moody's, he held positions at two Indonesian real estate firms.

New York-C-BASS has promoted John M. Draghi to chief operating officer, and Marc Rosenthal and Noelle Savarese to co-heads of capital markets. Mr. Rosenthal was also named the company's chief investment officer.

Mr. Draghi has served as the company's chief investment officer since July of 1996 and was previously responsible for all investment activities of the firm as head of capital markets.

Mr. Rosenthal has served as managing director in the capital markets area since 2004, and has been responsible for investment activities in residential mortgage loans and securities since commencing his employment at C-BASS in 2000.


Charlotte-Wachovia Securities has named John Ockerbloom as a managing director in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group.

Mr. Ockerbloom joins Wachovia Securities after nine years at Banc of America Securities LLC where he was a managing director in the Global Investment Banking Group's Real Estate Investment Banking practice.

Prior to joining the Real Estate Investment Banking Group in 2000, he served in the firm's Corporate Real Estate Advisory Group. He also worked in the firm's CMBS division in a client management capacity.

Charlotte-Wachovia Corp. has named Mike Slocum head of Real Estate Financial Services.

Mr. Slocum will be responsible for leading the company's growth in serving large commercial and residential real estate developers and projects nationwide.

He returns to the Real Estate Financial Services role following a term as the company's regional chief executive for its banking operations in the Connecticut, New Jersey and New York area. He is also an 18-year Wachovia veteran.

Raleigh-The law firm of Hutchens, Senter & Britton PA, a creditors' rights and civil litigation law firm, said that David R. Ford has joined the Firm as an associate.

Mr. Ford's practice will be located in the firm's Raleigh office where he will concentrate in the areas of foreclosure, real estate, both commercial and residential closings, and providing legal counsel to a wide range of clients.

Winston-Salem-Triad Guaranty Insurance Corp. has promoted George Jackson to vice president, information services.

Mr. Jackson has worked for Triad since September 1998, most recently as vice president and senior project leader. Prior to joining Triad, he worked for Unifi Inc. from 1996 to 1998 as project manager/lead analyst.

From 1991 to 1996 he was employed by ISSI Inc. as operations director.


Dallas-Mary A. Daffin has been named managing partner of the law firm of Barrett Burke Wilson Castle Daffin & Frappier LLP.

Ms. Daffin joined the firm at the time of its formation in 1990. Previously she was a solo practitioner in Houston for eight years, and prior to forming her practice she served as an Assistant United States Attorney from 1978 to 1982.

She is an adjunct professor at Texas Southern, and is an author and frequent speaker on issues related to the mortgage servicing industry, bankruptcies and foreclosures.

Dallas-First American Real Estate Information Services Inc. said that Laurel B. Geise has been named executive vice president, chief information security and compliance officer for the corporation's Mortgage Information Services Group.

Ms. Geise joined First American in 1993 and has held several senior management positions during her tenure. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of enterprise program management for First American's Client Relations Division.

Prior to joining First American, she managed mortgage information systems at Fifth Third Bank and M&T Mortgage.


Milwaukee-Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corp. has hired Eric Klopfer to a newly created position leading the private mortgage insurer's new international division.

Mr. Klopfer, a former vice president with insurer AIG United Guaranty in London, has been named vice president-international strategic initiatives and regulatory affairs for MGIC.

He will be responsible for identifying and managing new markets in Europe and other international markets and will also coordinate international government and regulatory affairs.
