MERS Servicer ID on AFN Site
The American Legal & Financial Network is offering on its website the MERS Servicer ID, a free-of-charge Internet tool that identifies the company servicing listed mortgage loans at the moment of inquiry.
The partnership allows AFN members and clients to access the MERS data directly from the AFN website. Through the new service users can screen loans registered on the MERS system targeting the needs of foreclosure professionals, real estate agents "and anyone seeking to identify a loan's servicer," the company said.
AFN members include mortgage banking attorneys, brokers, in-house counsel, investors, rating agencies, bankruptcy trustees and government agencies.
Commenting on the partnership with MERS, CEO William M. LeRoy noted that AFN is an organization dedicated "to create synergies between industry partners" that help make AFN's work more efficient.
It allows AFN to add services to both members and clients. (c) 2007 Mortgage Servicing News and SourceMedia, Inc. All Rights Reserved. http://www.mortgageservicingnews.com http://www.sourcemedia.com
