San Diego-SCME Mortgage Bankers Inc. has hired Bob Bothereau as senior vice president of risk management.
In addition to the evaluation and management of credit, product and market risk, Mr. Bothereau will have direct operational responsibility for the post-closing, quality assurance, compliance and loan servicing divisions.
He joins SCME with over 20 years experience in the mortgage and mortgage insurance industries and has spent a significant portion of that time with Guaranty Residential Mortgage Insurance Co. where he was regional vice president of risk management and underwriting.
SCME also hired Dennis Walls as senior vice president and Eastern division production manager.
Mr. Walls is a 26-year veteran of the mortgage industry and was most recently the Eastern division production manager for American Mortgage Network.
He will be responsible for market penetration and growth in the Eastern United States.
San Francisco-Compass Analytics, a provider of valuation and interest rate risk management solutions to mortgage capital markets participants, has hired Victor Rivera as managing director, national sales.
Mr. Rivera previously worked at Open/Close, GHR Systems and IPS-Sendero/RF Spectrum where he was vice president of sales.
Compass also added Teresa Wong as controller. She joins Compass from Freddie Mac where she was a consultant.
Prior to that, Ms. Wong was with Tuttle Decision Systems, where she served as controller for 16 years.
Walnut Creek-PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. promoted Jan Walker to the position of senior vice president, structured transactions and structured product development.
Ms. Walker joined PMI in 1995 as a product development manager, became director, structured transactions in 1998 and was promoted to vice president of the division in 2002.
Prior to joining PMI, she worked in the secondary and capital markets with companies such as First Nationwide Bank and North American Mortgage Co.
Poway-eAppraiseIT said that David Tiberio has joined the company as the valuation consultant for the default sector.
Mr. Tiberio, who has more than 17 years experience in the mortgage and banking industry, is responsible for growing and maintaining new accounts in the default market segment.
He joined eAppraiseIT from Bank of America, where he was the vice president and residential REO manager for its New York mortgage servicing center and his banking career includes various financial management positions within Bank of America and First Federal.
Santa Ana-The First American Corp. said that Philip C. Johnsen has been named executive vice president of sales for the company's Default Information Services group of companies. Filling the position previously held by Mr. Johnsen, Joni H. Pierce will now serve as chief operating officer for First American Residential Value View.
Mr. Johnsen has 20 years of sales and marketing experience, as well as in training, operations and call center management.
He joined the company in 2002 as vice president, sales and marketing for First American Residential Value View, a position he held for three years before being promoted to chief operating officer in 2005.
Ms. Pierce, who has more than 15 years of organizational leadership, operations and product management experience, joined First American in January 2006 when she was named chief quality officer.
Her prior experience includes management of multiple product lines at 3M Corp. and United Health Group, and 10 years as operations manager with Medical Review Institute of America.

New York-Director John Bonfiglio has been named head of U.S. structured finance for Fitch Ratings.
With this appointment, Mr. Bonfiglio's role has been expanded to include executive management leadership for the U.S. RMBS group, in addition to his existing executive responsibilities for the U.S. CMBS and U.S. ABS areas.
He joined Fitch in 1993, was co-head of Fitch's commercial mortgage group from 1997-2000 and was responsible for the residential mortgage group from 2001-2004. In 2004, he assumed responsibility for Fitch Ratings' commercial mortgage, real estate investment trust and asset-backed groups.
