Realty Veteran Joins Chapman and Cutler

In a move that the firm says will fortify its corporate practice in the area of finance law, Chapman and Cutler has hired Philip Edison as a partner in its Chicago office.

Mr. Edison, a corporate transactions attorney and real estate executive, has experience with real estate acquisitions, development and financing for various property types in markets across the country.

Mr. Edison joins Chapman's corporate finance department, where he will help advise on real estate issues pertaining to mergers and acquisitions, asset securitizations, revolving credit facilities, subscription financing and other finance transactions, the company said.

Mr. Edison previously worked at Adams LaSalle Realty, where he was a vice president responsible for managing acquisitions and structuring deals for properties, primarily on the West Coast. He also has prior experience at First Bank and Trust Co. of Illinois. (c) 2008 Mortgage Servicing News and SourceMedia, Inc.
