Walnut Creek--The PMI Group Inc. promoted Arthur P. Slepian to executive vice president, chief enterprise risk officer.
Mr. Slepian will be responsible for enterprise risk management for the PMI Group, including U.S. mortgage insurance operations, international subsidiaries and strategic investments.
He has more than 22 years of experience at PMI and has been responsible for a variety of areas, including the establishment of CMG Mortgage Insurance Co., PMI's joint venture with CUNA Mutual Group.
Walnut Creek--PMI Mortgage Insurance Co. appointed Joanne Berkowitz as executive vice president for risk management and operations.
In this capacity Ms. Berkowitz will be responsible for optimizing the credit risk, portfolio management and risk-adjusted return objectives for PMI's U.S. mortgage insurance portfolio as well as for under-writing and servicing operations.
She had been chief enterprise risk officer for The PMI Group and began her career with PMI in 1983.
Shelton--Conrad Vasquez has been named executive vice president of operations at Clayton Holdings Inc.
Mr. Vasquez, a 25-year industry veteran, will be responsible for the day-to-day operations for Clayton's due diligence and surveillance businesses and will focus on increasing operational productivity, improving service quality, and expanding product offerings, the company said.
He joins Clayton after five years with Washington Mutual, where he was most recently an executive vice president and head of retail bank operations, and previously held executive positions at Advanta Bank Corp., First USA, Household Finance, American Express and Sears.
East Rutherford--Cushman & Wakefield Inc. has promoted Jose Cruz of to the position of executive director.
Mr. Cruz originally joined Cushman & Wakefield of New Jersey as a research services analyst in the mid-1990s and progressed to the position of research services Northeast area manager before becoming part of the metropolitan area capital markets group.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wake-field, he was a real estate analyst with PaineWebber.
Morris Plains--Weichert Financial Services said that Larry M. Jackson has joined the Weichert family of companies as a senior vice president and chief financial officer.
In this position, Mr. Jackson is charged with overseeing the financial/accounting functions for Weichert Financial Services, Weichert Insurance Agency Inc. and the affiliated Weichert title entities as well as the overall management of the mortgage loan servicing function for Weichert Financial Services.
He brings to his CFO duties 28 years of experience in mortgage banking, banking and consulting services.
Armonk--Gary C. Dunton, chairman and chief executive officer of MBIA Inc., has resigned and been replaced by former executive chairman Joseph Brown. Mr. Brown had been MBIA's executive chairman until his retirement in May 2007 and previously served as chairman/CEO between January 1999 and May 2004.
New York--Mission Capital Advisors said that Jim Barnard has joined the company as director, where he will structure loan sales transactions and get involved in due diligence, underwriting and business development.
Mr. Barnard joins Mission Capital Advisors from Bear Stearns' real estate capital markets unit.
Prior to Bear Stearns, he was an associate with Deutsche Bank Securities' commercial real estate group from 2000-2003.
Dallas--First American Subordinate Lien Outsourcing, a member of the First American Corp. family of companies, said that Thomas W. Showalter has been named senior vice president of product and analytics.
In his new position, Mr. Showalter will oversee new product development and the analytical infra-structure for First American's subordinate lien outsourcing initiatives. Prior to joining First American in 2005, he held executive positions with TRW Credit Services (now Experian) and Compex Systems.
Dallas--First American First Lien Out-sourcing, a member of the First American Corp. family of companies, said that Wesley B. Howland has been named senior vice president.
In his new position, he will oversee internal finances, contracts, pricing, proposals and client advocacy for First American's first-lien outsourcing initiatives.
Mr. Howland comes to First American from GMAC Mortgage, where he most recently served as vice president of contract finance for the company's subservicing business.
Previously he held the position of vice president of servicing acquisitions with Marine Midland (now HSBC).
Houston--Integrated Mortgage Solutions named Diane E. Gozza as senior vice president of sales and marketing for the company.
Prior to joining IMS, Ms. Gozza served as vice president of sales and marketing at Pittsburgh-based ValuAmerica.
She also served as senior national account relationship manager for Minneapolis-based Fair Isaac Corp., and at Jacksonville, Fla.-based Fidelity National Financial was charged with managing national customer care for multiple facets of the organization.
Milwaukee--Metavante appointed Randy Chadwick as vice president of sales covering the Southeast and William Mulcahy as vice president of sales covering the Northeast. Mr. Chadwick and Mr. Mulcahy each have more than 20 years of sales experience at mortgage technology and financial services companies, including First American, CheckFree, Dorado Corp., First Union and MortgageFlex Systems.
