Santa Ana-First American Title Insurance Co. said that Karen Hodum and Jon Rutila have been named national account directors for the company's Lenders Advantage division.

Ms. Hodum is returning to First American after having previously served as vice president and strategic account director for First American Real Estate Information Services in Dallas from 2000 to 2007.

She has a background in sales that includes positions as a regional sales manager for First National Net Inc., a field sales manager for Ocwen Technology XChange and a branch manager for Credit Data Services.

Mr. Rutila comes to First American from CitiMortgage in St. Louis, where he had served as vice president and director of correspondent sales for nine years. Prior to that, he had worked as a wholesale account executive for Homecomings Financial and retention sales manager for Source One Mortgage Services.


Washington-The Financial Services Roundtable said that Jill Hershey has joined the company as vice president where she will lead the roundtable's lobbying efforts on regulatory reform.

Ms. Hershey joins the roundtable after working for the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association and The Bond Market Association where she oversaw the areas of taxation, securities regulation, bankruptcy and insolvency law, derivatives and pension regulation and a variety of other issues affecting the bond markets.

Washington-The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. appointed Ellen Lazar as senior advisor for consumer policy to FDIC chairman Sheila Bair.

In this new position, Ms. Lazar will advise the chairman on issues relating to the corporation's consumer policy and programs.

Ms. Lazar was a partner at Venture Philanthropy Partners, a philanthropic organization that invests in nonprofit institutions.

She previously served as senior vice president for housing and community initiatives at the Fannie Mae Foundation where she was responsible for grantmaking and management of the foundation's national, regional and D.C. offices.

Prior to this position, she served as executive director of the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corp.


Fulton-LendingSpace selected Jeffrey Osheka as president of the company.

Prior to joining LendingSpace, Mr. Osheka was senior vice president for national sales and business development at Lydian Technology Group and Lydian Data Services.

Previously, he spent several years at ZC Sterling and at Ultraprise/GHR, and earlier in his career held various executive positions with Ryan Financial Services, NVR Mortgage, Dellwood Mortgage and Fidelity Mortgage Funding.


Sudbury-Jackson Pence has been named senior vice president, director of marketing for Graystone Solutions Inc.

Mr. Pence brings over 25 years of industry experience to the company.

Prior to joining Graystone, he was vice president, director of strategic alliances for Fiserv Lending Solutions responsible for partner relationships.

Before Fiserv, he was senior vice president, director of credit technology at North American Mortgage, and also spent several years marketing the Loan Prospector automated underwriting system to lenders for Freddie Mac.


New York-Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., a unit of Oppenheimer Holdings, said that Ed Tappan has joined the firm as managing director, head of agency CMO and MBS trading.

He joins Oppenheimer from Citigroup Smith Barney where he was director and manager of the middle-market government agency collateralized mortgage obligations and mortgage-backed securities trading desk.

Prior to that, he worked at Tucker Anthony and Gruntal & Co.

At Oppenheimer, Mr. Tappan will manage the trading of agency CMOs and MBS issued by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae.

New York-Jefferies & Co. Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group Inc., said that Lisa Pendergast has joined the firm's fixed-income division as a managing director in the MBS/ABS/CMBS group.

Ms. Pendergast has more than 20 years of industry experience and was most recently a managing director in the fixed-income strategies group at RBS Greenwich Capital, where she worked for eight years.

Prior to RBS Greenwich Capital, she worked as a CMBS research analyst at Prudential Securities.

She is the president-elect of the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association and sits on the editorial board of the CMSA's quarterly journal, CMBS World.


Pittsburgh-United Lender Services Corp. named Richard Fuchs as executive vice president of strategic business development.

Mr. Fuchs comes to ULS with experience in the title, closing and appraisal industry. Prior to joining the ULS team, he served as the president and sole owner of Express Financial Services for over 22 years.

During his tenure at EFS, Mr. Fuchs ran a dual platform consisting of a national service center in Greentree, Pa., as well as nine full service branches in the neighboring states.


Houston-Integrated Mortgage Solutions, a collateral protection resource for the mortgage servicing industry, named Gerald Aust as senior vice president of sales and client relations.

Mr. Aust brings more than three decades of experience within the financial services industry to IMS.

Prior to joining IMS, he spent nearly 10 years in multiple roles at the Mortgage Bankers Association.


Vienna-VirPack, a provider of e-delivery, document management and imaging solutions to the mortgage banking industry, appointed Colleen Flynn as director of sales.

Ms. Flynn comes to VirPack with more than 20 years of sales, account management and marketing experience in the mortgage banking industry.

Most recently she served as a regional sales manager for correspondent lending at CitiMortgage Inc.


Brookfield-Fiserv Inc. said that Maryann Goebel has joined the company as executive vice president and chief information officer.

Ms. Goebel joins Fiserv with more than 30 years of technology experience.
