Orange-Master Financial Inc. has appointed Alice Sorenson as senior vice president.
She will oversee loan administration, being responsible for loan servicing, collections, customer service, loss mitigation, asset management, bankruptcy, records management, and investor operations.
Prior to joining Master Financial Inc., she served as senior vice president of finance and asset management at Ameriquest Mortgage Co. She was an instructor at the University of California, Irvine for 10 years where she taught the introductory and advanced finance classes and also served on the program's advisory board for several terms.
San Diego-American Mortgage Network has appointed Marta McCall as senior vice president, risk management.
Before joining AmNet, Ms. McCall was principal of McCall & Associates, a consulting firm that specialized in process improvement, lending and appraisal, operations and quality control, database development, and documentation.
Ms. McCall is the chairperson for the Mortgage Bankers Association of America's National Quality Assurance Committee. She served as the MBAA chairperson since 1997 and was the 1995/1996 chairperson of the California Mortgage Bankers Association's Mortgage Quality & Compliance Committee. She is acting co-chair of the QAC IRS subcommittee.
San Diego-Del Mar Database has appointed John Walsh as president and chief operating officer and Doug Clawson as chief technology officer.
Mr. Walsh has more than 15 years of proven experience, having served in executive positions and as the driving force behind numerous mortgage and technology-oriented companies, including his work as president of RF/Spectrum Decision Science Corp. and chairman and CEO of PureCarbon, Inc.
As Del Mar Database's new CTO, Mr. Clawson is responsible for aligning the company's technology, strategy and vision with its strategic business plan. He oversees the implementation of procedures that enable a rapid and flexible development strategy for each individual client and is planning a new generation of technology for Del Mar Database's flagship software, DataTrac.
Walnut Creek-Reinhard Koester has been promoted to executive vice president and chief risk officer of The PMI Group.
Mr. Koester, who joined the mortgage insurer in February, has developed a risk management model for the organization and led a team that produced a strategic plan, PMI said. He was previously a vice president at Goldman Sachs.
Rocky Hill-Walter C. Morgan has joined Integrated Loan Service as executive vice president, strategic business development.
Mr. Morgan will be developing strategic partnerships and new business for ILS and Fiserv's Lending Services and Solutions Group.
Mr. Morgan was formerly with Fidelity National Information Solutions and Market Intelligence.

Washington-The director of the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, has named Stephen A. Blumenthal as acting deputy director of OFHEO. Mr. Blumenthal has been serving as counsel to the director and as head of the Special Examination Unit that is currently investigating accounting and management practices at Freddie Mac.
A veteran of the Washington legal, regulatory and political arenas, Mr. Blumenthal came to OFHEO in July 2002 from Schwab Washington Research Group, where he served as an analyst specializing in banking and financial services. Previously, Blumenthal served as counsel to the Energy and Commerce Committee (now the Commerce Committee) of the U.S. House of Representatives, and as vice president and Director of Regulatory Relations for the Securities Industry Association.
Boca Raton-Data Warehouse Corp. has appointed Martin Wahl as director of product development.
Prior to joining Data Warehouse, Mr. Wahl was a senior consultant at Equifax Decision Solutions. He also served as director of product development at LoanPerformance and served as the manager of business development for InterRealty, a provider of Multiple Listing Service systems and real estate software.
In addition, he held the position of systems consultant for the global consulting and technology services firm Accenture.
St. Louis-American Equity Mortgage has promoted Matthew J. McLain to head of policy and compliance, a newly created position.
Mr. McLain joined American Equity Mortgage in July 2001 as a corporate trainer and most recently served as employee development manager.
Horsham-GMAC Mortgage has named Bill Shuler its chief information officer, with responsibility for providing vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives for the company.
Before joining GMAC Mortgage, Mr. Shuler was senior vice president and chief information officer of National City Mortgage in Miamisburg, Ohio. He also spent three years with AccuBanc Mortgage (which became part of National City Bank) in Dallas where he served as executive vice president and chief information officer.
