DocuTech Prepared to Accommodate Electronic Loan Documents

Idaho Falls, ID-DocuTech Corp. here reports that the total client volume in its mortgage document preparation and delivery business is up 200% for the first quarter. The company developed DT6, an original program that simplifies the process of preparing and printing closing documents by allowing lenders to prepare, test and print documents from the desktop.

DocuTech's software interfaces with many of the leading industry lending systems. Recently, the company introduced an upgrade allowing the software to provide completely electronic mortgages using the SmartDoc standard format.

As a result of the growth the company has experienced, it recently hired five new information technology, customer support and sales professionals nationwide.

New hires at DocuTech include K.C. Johnson, chief technology officer; Chris Barkdull, regional sales manager for the Western states; Matthew Koblick, regional sales manager for the California area; and two new senior account managers for customer support. In addition, the company has added three new account managers over the last three months.

"DocuTech is on the leading edge of technology development," said company president and CEO Ty Jenkins. "Going from traditional forms-based systems to new Web services that incorporate SmartDocs and eSignatures requires a higher level of talent and expertise."

A software development veteran with 16 years of experience, Mr. Johnson, as chief technology officer, will head up DocuTech's new Web services framework for closing document generation. His recent accomplishments have centered around Web technologies, managing three flagship Web applications in the e-learning and credit industries.

Mr. Johnson will also be working on the evolution and release of ConformX, DocuTech's XML Internet document solution, which is due to be released later this spring.

According to executive vice president of sales, Steve Butler, DocuTech is continuing to expand into the Southeast, Northeast and Midwest, with plans to hire two or three more regional sales managers by the third quarter.

The company has already expanded in the Western states and California.

Mr. Barkdull will manage the company's growth in the Western states from Salt Lake City. Responsible for the Salt Lake City area, Washington and Texas, he has extensive professional sales experience with Lexis-Nexis, Fidelity Investments, Siebel Systems and Concerto Software.

Mr. Koblick will manage the California region. A graduate of Indiana University, he will be based in Los Angeles.

To handle increased account volumes, senior account managers Lindsey Searle and Jennifer Roberson have been hired at the Idaho Falls headquarters and in Jacksonville, Fla., respectively.

In other company news, DocuTech announced a partnership with Sealed to Perfection Mobile Notary Seminars and Services, San Jose, Calif. The deal will make DocuTech the supplier of loan documents the firm will use for training, video programs, and printed training materials and products.
