Roundup: NCS Sells Post-Close Division to Law Firm

National Closing Solutions here is selling its post-close servicing division to Robertson & Anschutz, a Houston-based law firm that focuses on serving the mortgage industry.

David Tandy, CEO of NCS, said the company has decided to focus on core product offerings such as title work, settlement services and appraisals.

"As document preparation attorneys servicing the real estate market, R&A's service offering dovetails with the post- closing NCS currently provides. We have worked with R&A over the past nine months, in a channel partner capacity, and have experienced first hand their commitment to excellent customer service and quality work - principles that are cornerstones of NCS and its parent company. I am confident our current customers will experience the same in working with R&A," he said in a statement.

James Robertson, partner and attorney at R&A, said he and his partner are eager to grow the post-close business segment.

"It makes sense for document preparation attorneys to handle the post-close function. NCS has assembled a qualified, professional team that has been servicing their accounts. We look forward to welcoming them to R&A," Mr. Robertson said.

National Closing Solutions, a sister company to Placer Title Co., is a real estate settlement and vendor management company. The firm specializes in preparing closing document packages for first and junior lien loan transactions for mortgage bankers, brokers, correspondents, wholesalers and retail originators. The company operates regional hub offices in California and Texas.
