Water Problems Drench Cleveland Properties

If you are managing a vacant property in Cleveland, you might want to make sure the water is turned off. That warning was recently sent out to field service contractors by the Society of Independent Representatives, which is an association of field service contractors. The Society of Independent Representatives said it came to the association's attention that the City of Cleveland Water Department, via a subcontractor, may have inadvertently restored water service to vacant properties.

In at least one case, this led to a flooded vacant home for an REO contractor. The Society of Independent Representatives advised its members to conduct an immediate inspection of vacant properties in Cleveland to verify if the water has been restored and to post notices to alert subcontractors not to restore water service.
