Irvine-North American Real Estate Solutions has appointed Kris Ballinger as the director of sales and marketing.

Ms. Ballinger brings to her position over 10 years of sales, marketing, technology and real estate experience. In her new role, she will be responsible for client and vendor relationships, marketing and business development.

Prior to joining North American Real Estate Solutions, Ms. Ballinger was the director of marketing for Diversified Title and Escrow Services Co. and held the same position with Stewart Title previously.

Santa Ana-First American Residential Group has added Michael Lancaster, executive vice president of sales, and Alan S. Greber, senior vice president, to the company's management team.

Mr. Lancaster brings more than 20 years of real estate industry experience to his new position, including 15 with Coldwell Banker. In 2001, he joined First American as chief operating officer for Vendor Management Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of First American.

A 20-year veteran of the real estate franchising industry, Mr. Greber specializes in joint ventures and settlement-related product and service opportunities for the real estate brokerage community. Prior to joining First American, he was founder and president of Security First Title Affiliates, Inc. He joined First American in 2000 and was named vice president of the company's largest subsidiary, First American Title Insurance Co.

Walnut Creek-The PMI Group Inc. has promoted Glen Corso to group senior vice president, corporate capital management and corporate relations. Mr. Corso has been with PMI since 1998.

He will be responsible for PMI's relationships with the global credit rating agencies Moody's Investors Service, Standard & Poor's and Fitch Ratings.

Mr. Corso has over 28 years experience in the mortgage industry. He has held senior legislative and regulatory positions with the Mortgage Bankers Association and National Association of Home Builders.


Washington-William M. Himpler is the American Financial Services Association's new senior vice president for federal government affairs, the association reported.

Mr. Himpler previously was deputy assistant secretary for congressional relations at the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Prior to joining HUD in 2002, he was director of legislative affairs for Barbour Griffith & Rogers Inc. and was tax counsel/legislative director for Rep. Jerry Weller, R-Ill.

In addition to Mr. Himpler's appointment, AFSA announced two promotions within its government affairs department. George McElwee, formerly manager, federal government affairs becomes director, federal government affairs.

Beth Frank, a government affairs representative for AFSA since 2002, moves up to assume Mr. McElwee's role as manager, federal government affairs.


Boston-The Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston has named William L. Oakley as senior vice president and chief information officer.

Mr. Oakley comes to the bank from John Hancock Financial Services Inc., where he served as vice president and chief technology officer. Previously, he served as vice president, treasurer and founding manager of Am-erican Business Insurors Corp.; vice president of technology services at USF&G Insurance; senior vice president with Fidelity Investments; and vice president, systems planning at American Fletcher National Bank, in Indianapolis.


New York-Thor Equities said that Jacob Berman has joined the organization as president of Thor Capital LLC. As head of Thor Capital, Mr. Berman will manage investment capital for Thor Equities, a national investment and development company specializing in the revitalization of urban markets across the country.

Mr. Berman, former president and CEO of Commercial Bank of New York, has a background in banking spanning nearly 25 years.

Before joining Thor Equities, he led his own strategic business and wealth management advisory firm, JB Advisories Inc.

New York-American Mortgage Acceptance Co. said that John Garth has been appointed as chief operating officer and senior vice president of the company.

Mr. Garth joins AMAC with over 20 years of experience, including 19 years in varied management positions in the real estate industry. Prior to joining AMAC, Mr. Garth was senior vice president and Production Manager at CII, the conduit arm of GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corp.

Prior to his tenure with GMAC, Mr. Garth spent nearly 12 years in various positions with The Prudential Insurance Co. of America.


Portland-LIME Financial has added Jeffrey Zeltzer to its board of directors. Mr. Zeltzer is executive director of NHEMA, the National Home Equity Mortgage Association, based in Washington.

As executive director, Mr. Zeltzer supervises NHEMA's governmental affairs efforts, public relations, membership development, educational programs and all administrative functions.

Prior to joining NHEMA, Mr. Zeltzer was a corporate officer and board member of Home Budget Loans in Los Angeles.


Horsham-Nathan J. Kornfeld has been appointed to the newly created position of chief operating officer of investment advisory firm, GMAC Institutional Advisors LLC.

Mr. Kornfeld joined GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corp., the parent of GMACIA, in January 2001 as executive vice president and director of strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining GMACCM, he spent 20 years in investment banking, primarily focusing on mortgages, with Salomon Brothers and Lehman Brothers.

Jenkintown-American Financial Realty Trust has promoted Robert Delany to the position of senior vice president of capital markets and corporate strategies.

Before joining American Financial Realty Trust, Mr. Delany accumulated 15 years of combined service as treasurer and director of finance for Fleet Credit Card Services and previous to that position was employed by Ernst & Young, J.P. Morgan, CoreStates Financial, Advanta and FleetBoston Financial.


McLean-Freddie Mac has elected Thomas S. Johnson, chairman and chief executive officer of GreenPoint Financial Corp., to its board of directors.

Mr. Johnson's banking career has spanned nearly 35 years. Since 1993, he has served as chairman and CEO of GreenPoint Financial. He was also president of GreenPoint through 1997.
