Birmingham-AmSouth Bank has named two former SouthTrust executives - Larry Hamilton and Wade King - to lead its Mortgage Banking Division.

Mr. Hamilton has been appointed executive vice president and head of AmSouth Mortgage. Mr. Hamilton will oversee all aspects of AmSouth's mortgage lending area.

Previously a senior executive vice president at SouthTrust Bank, Mr. Hamilton has more than 30 years experience in the mortgage industry.

Mr. King has been named senior vice president and national mortgage sales manager for AmSouth.

He was previously chief executive officer of SouthTrust Mortgage Corp. from 2000 until 2004 and has 30 years experience in the mortgage industry.


Chicago-Newmark's Chicago office said that Matt Ebner has joined the company as director of financial services.

Mr. Ebner brings over 15 years of experience in real estate finance to his role at Newmark. Prior to joining Newmark, he served as manager of financial analysis at Prime Group Realty Trust.

Before joining Prime Group Realty Trust, he worked as the manager of financial analysis for CMC Heartland Partners.


St. Cloud-VMP Mortgage Solutions Inc. said that Patrick Hartford has been appointed to vice chairperson of the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization's eMortgage Workgroup.

Mr. Hartford is senior business analyst for VMP Mortgage Solutions. He was elected to this leadership position by the eMortgage Workgroup, which is comprised of more than 60 individuals from prominent industry organizations.

During his one-year term as vice chairperson, he will help direct the group's work and its numerous meetings.


Santa Fe-Thornburg Mortgage Inc. said that Clarence G. Simmons III has been named senior executive vice president and, effective April 29, chief financial officer.

Mr. Simmons joins the company from Countrywide Financial Corp., where he was a managing director.

He also served for 13 years in a number of capacities at First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Rochester, N.Y., including senior vice president and chief financial officer, and began his career at Marine Midland Bank as a financial planning officer.


New York-TIAA-CREF said that David Brown has been named the head of commercial mortgages. He will work out of the organization's Charlotte, N.C., office.

Mr. Brown joins TIAA-CREF from Prudential Financial, where he served as the Principal and head of Eastern region originations for their various real estate debt capital sources.

Previously, he held assignments of in their mortgage originations and institutional units. Prior to joining Prudential, Mr. Brown was with the Boston Co. and Ryan Elliott & Co.

New York-The New York Mortgage Co. has appointed Jonathan Foxx to the post of chief compliance officer.

Mr. Foxx, a 30-year veteran of the financial services industry, joins NYMC from Integrated Compliance Solutions, where he was a director.

Previously, he served as senior compliance officer, corporate vice president, and director of government lending at MortgageIT Inc., and held senior positions at such companies as IPI Financial Services Inc., Federal Standard Mortgage Banking Corp. and Ameritrust National Mortgage Bankers.

New York-Phil Gledhill has been hired as director of the operational risk consulting practice for IMAG.

Mr. Gledhill will be working with traditional banks as well as mortgage origination and servicing institutions.

He is the former vice president and manager of operational risks at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi in the U.S. Previously he headed operations and compliance at Leonia Bank plc and worked in the financial control and banking services groups at IBJ Schroder.

Uniondale-Arbor Commercial Mortgage LLC has appointed Guy Milone to general counsel, SVP.

Simultaneously, Walter Horn, who has served as general counsel to Arbor Commercial Mortgage since its inception in 1996 and general counsel and secretary for Arbor Realty Trust Inc. since November 2003, will also assume the title of director of compliance for Arbor Realty Trust.

Mr. Milone has more than 14 years experience as a practicing real estate attorney and in-house counsel. Prior to joining Arbor, he was with the law firm of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll LLP, and was senior real estate counsel with Sterling Financial Group based in Manhasset, N.Y.

Mr. Horn has more than 30 years of legal experience. He served as general counsel with Arbor National Holdings from 1991 until its sale in 1995. He assumed the role of General Counsel at Arbor Commercial Mortgage when the company was formed in 1996.


Charlotte-Laureate Capital LLC said that Paul D. Wisse has joined Laureate as vice president and marketing manager/capital markets in the company's corporate headquarters in Charlotte.

Mr. Wisse has been in the financial services industry since 1983 when he started with Federated Investors.

Since then, he served as chief portfolio strategist for Signet Bank Capital Markets, director of Tier II fixed-income sales for First Union Capital Markets and managing director of Structured Products for Forward Capital, a real estate management firm.


Memphis-Valocity has named Marie Flores Parmele as account executive for sales and client services.

Ms. Parmele comes to Valocity from WebMD, where she spent more than six years as a director of client services and sales.

There she was responsible for overseeing and directing a group of specialized customer service and inside sales representatives. She managed several accounts, while implementing training and sales forecasting.


Dallas-First American Real Estate Information Services Inc. said that Andy Williams has been named executive vice president of client relations for First American's Mortgage Information Services Group.

Mr. Williams joined First American in 1992 when the company acquired Ticor Realty Tax Services where he held the position of vice president of sales.

He then served as senior vice president of sales with WNC Insurance Services before rejoining First American in 1997 as vice president and national sales director with First American Flood Data Services.
