Frommeyer Becomes NAMB's CEO

Don Frommeyer, who has been president of NAMB-The Association of Mortgage Professionals since November 2011, is the new chief executive officer of the trade group.

In this position, he will act as the spokesperson for internal and external NAMB communications, support the group's president with special projects and continue his role representing NAMB at hearings and panels.

John Councilman, currently president-elect of NAMB, will become president and be sworn in at the group's annual meeting in Las Vegas on Sept. 14. Councilman is a mortgage broker at AMC Mortgage in Fort Myers, Fla.

While CEO is a new position for the organization, it has had a person in charge of the group's operations in the past, including Roy DeLoach, who ran the organization from 2006 to 2010 before becoming its lobbyist.

Frommeyer will remain on NAMB's board as the immediate past president. He will also remain an active originator and co-owner at his Carmel, Ind.-based company, Amtrust Mortgage Funding.
