LoanDepot LLC appointed Chad Smith as executive vice president of production, direct lending.

Most recently, he served as senior vice president of production at Discover Home Loans, a division of Discover Financial Services.

Prior to that, Smith was the senior vice president of production at LendingTree Loans where he led sales and processing teams across six states.

While at LendingTree Loans, he also served as both a vice president and director of home equity.

SAN FRANCISCO

Capsilon, a provider of cloud-based document and data management solutions for mortgage lenders and investors, named Ramarao Velpuri as vice president of engineering.

Velpuri has more than 20 years of experience as a software development leader, with a focus on enterprise software-as-a-service.

Prior to joining Capsilon, he served as vice president with CA Technologies, where he managed global product development, led SaaS delivery and multitenant architecture at the application and database level, and built the innovation center.

COLORADO

DENVER

LenderLive Network Inc., a domestic-based, end-to-end services provider, named Lorie Helms chief information officer.

In this position, Helms will lead and manage LenderLive's IT infrastructure, network and data security, and will provide oversight for corporate and divisional application development.

She brings more than 17 years of technology management experience and innovation to LenderLive.

Most recently, Helms was chief technology officer for Stewart Lender Services (formerly Allonhill).

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

WASHINGTON

The Mortgage Bankers Association said that Jamie Korus, president and principal of Alliance Financial Resources, was appointed chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association Political Action Committee (MORPAC) for the 2015-2016 political cycle.

Korus succeeds Kurt Pfotenhauer who served as MORPAC Chairman for the 2013-2014 election cycle.

Korus currently serves as the president and principal of Alliance Financial Resources.

FLORIDA

POMPANO BEACH

ARMCO, a provider of web-based audit technology for the financial services industry, hired Phil McCall as chief operating officer.

McCall brings more than 20 years of experience in quality control, loan origination and underwriting, mortgage fraud, loss and litigation and real estate-based transactions.

Prior to joining ARMCO, he served as COO for forensic loan auditing and loan data verification provider IMARC.

ILLINOIS

CHICAGO

Guaranteed Rate named George Allen as regional manager, based in the company's Hammonton, N.J., office.

In his new role, Allen will oversee the company's mortgage lending, sales and operations in New Jersey and southeast Pennsylvania, drawing on his more than 35 years of experience in the mortgage industry.

Prior to assuming his current role with Guaranteed Rate, Allen served as the company's senior vice president.

Before joining the company, he spent 14 years as executive vice president of business development for Superior Mortgage Corp.

LOUISIANA

NEW ORLEANS

Alan Novotny has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Eustis Mortgage Corp.

Novotny has 32 years of experience in mortgage banking.

Robert Eustis, formerly CEO, will continue at Eustis Mortgage as chairman.

MARYLAND

BETHESDA

Walker & Dunlop Inc. hired Ralph Lowen and Scott Becker to join its FHA finance group.

Lowen, senior vice president, and Becker, vice president, will focus on originating market-rate and affordable multifamily loans in addition to health care loans, out of the company's Denver office.

Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Lowen served as principal of FHA loan originations at Prudential Mortgage Capital Co.

Before Walker & Dunlop, Becker served as an account manager at Prudential Huntoon Paige Associates.

MICHIGAN

TROY

Flagstar Bank named Brian Vieaux as national sales director for wholesale lending.

He joined Flagstar in 2012 as senior vice president and head of home lending with responsibility for Flagstar's national network of retail home loan centers.

Vieaux has more than 20 years of experience in mortgage banking, mostly in the broker and correspondent space.

During his career, he has held positions as loan officer, division manager and national sales manager for major mortgage operations such as IndyMac, CitiMortgage and Source One Mortgage.

VIRGINIA

MCLEAN

Freddie Mac said that Raphael Bostic was elected as a director on the company's board.

Bostic served as the assistant secretary for policy development and research at the Department of Housing and Urban Development from 2009 to 2012.

In that Senate-confirmed position, he was a principal advisor to the secretary of HUD on policy and research.

WISCONSIN

MILWAUKEE

Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corp., the principal subsidiary of MGIC Investment Corp., hired Sean Dilweg as senior vice president, government relations.

In his newly created position, Dilweg will lead MGIC's Washington government relations activities relating to housing policy to help shape the discussion of the issues impacting the private mortgage insurance industry.

He joins MGIC from CUNA Mutual Group where he most recently served as the president of CMG Mortgage Insurance Co.

In addition to his mortgage insurance industry experience, Dilweg is the former insurance commissioner of Wisconsin.
