Prior to joining Stearns, Smith served as the chief financial officer for Caliber Home Loans.
Earlier in his career, he held various executive positions at Bank of America Home Loans, including national service executive, national sales executive and chief financial officer.

Pilgrim Christakis LLP, a financial services litigation boutique, has promoted Matt Stromquist to the firm's partnership.
Stromquist is a seasoned trial lawyer who has tried cases in state and federal courts around the country.

Walker & Dunlop Inc. said that seniors housing and health care finance veterans Jeffrey Ringwald and William Jackson have joined its multifamily finance group in the company's Dallas office.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Ringwald and Jackson were both employed by Arbor Commercial Mortgage.
As senior vice president of seniors housing and health care, Ringwald led the origination effort and strategic direction of the seniors housing and health care platform.
Jackson served as vice president and was responsible for originating and structuring seniors housing and health care debt for borrowers across the U.S.

People's United Bank said that Mark Melchione has joined the bank as executive vice president, commercial real estate, responsible for the New York City and Long Island markets.
Prior to joining the bank, he was group manager, administrative vice president at Manufacturers & Traders Trust Co.
Melchione also served with Wachovia, Wells Fargo and PNC.

Alderus Mortgage said that Marc Dooley has joined the executive team as chief marketing officer.
In this role, he will be responsible for leading company growth through sales and marketing efforts nationwide.
For the past four years, Dooley owned his own management and consulting organization.
He is also the former chief marketing officer for CashCall Personal Loans and CashCall Mortgage.

First Guaranty Mortgage Corp. has named Norman Scott as relationship manager for its warehouse lending division.
Scott brings 20 years of mortgage lending industry experience to FGMC.
He has served as vice president with the warehouse lending divisions of Bear Stearns Lending Group, Countrywide Home Loans and Jeffries and Co.
Most recently, he was the managing director for the residential mortgage warehouse lending group of Sterling National Bank.
