PNC Mortgage's Chief Executive To Retire

PNC Mortgage's chief executive and president Joseph C. Guyaux will retire in the spring of 2016, the Pittsburgh-based company announced Thursday. He will be replaced by treasurer and chief investment officer E. William Parsley III.

Guyaux, 65, who also holds the title of senior vice chairman of PNC Financial Services Group Inc., will end a 43-year run at the bank, which he joined in 1972 after graduating from Brown University.

"He was the architect of PNC's highly successful Retail Banking business, which has been the foundation for our growth from a small bank in Western Pennsylvania to one of the largest financial institutions in the United States,” said PNC's chief executive William S. Demchak in a news release.

Guyaux held several leadership roles at the $344 billion-asset company, including stints as president, head of retail banking and chief risk officer. He became CEO of PNC Mortgage in February of this year, replacing E. Todd Chamberlain.

Parsley moved moved to PNC from JP Morgan Chase in 2003, and has helped manage the bank's portfolios. He currently serves as chairman of both PNC Capital Markets, Inc., and PNC Investment Corporation, Inc.
