Equifax to Provide Anonymous Credit Scores to Fannie Mae Investors

Equifax has agreed to provide Fannie Mae with anonymous, loan-level FICO credit scores as part of its monthly disclosure program.

Fannie Mae will disclose the updated anonymous scores as part of its Connecticut Avenue Securities program, which offers credit-linked securities to institutional investors, according to a Wednesday news release.

The agreement "supports [Fannie Mae's] mandate to reduce taxpayer risk and facilitates an increased role for private capital in the mortgage market," Geoffrey Hickman, Equifax's managing director of government credit and financial markets, said in the release.

The updated disclosures will help institutional investors monitor their investments, said Laurel Davis, vice president of credit risk transfer for Fannie Mae.

Equifax will also offer institutional investors the ability to download expanded datasets on borrowers' credit variables.
