Fannie Enhances Short Sales Website

Fannie Mae's short sale portal has been updated with new features for real estate agents.

The enhanced portal allows real estate agents to request price guidance directly from Fannie Mae before listing a property. Agents can also view the status of their submitted cases, the government-sponsored enterprise said Thursday.

Additionally, the GSE said it will release another new feature in the coming months, allowing agents to directly negotiate offers for first lien approval.

"Our goal is to provide transparency throughout these transactions and arrive at an agreement that benefits all parties involved," said Tim McCallum, vice president for short sales at Fannie Mae, in a press release.

The website is offered through Fannie Mae's HomePath distressed property sales division and assists listing agents who are working with borrowers who are considering or pursuing a short sale. Fannie Mae first launched the HomePath website for real estate agents in February 2013.
