Fifth Third Names New Head of Mortgage Unit

Fifth Third Bancorp in Cincinnati has named Edward Robinson senior vice president and head of Fifth Third Mortgage.

Robinson joins the $142 billion-asset Fifth Third from PHH, where he most recently served as senior vice president. He will report to Chad Borton, head of Fifth Third's Consumer Bank.

Michelle Van Dyke previous served as the president of Fifth Third Mortgage, leaving the role in early January to become president of the Heart of West Michigan United Way in Grand Rapids. In the interim, Borton and others oversaw the mortgage unit's operations, a company spokeswoman said.

At PHH, Robinson led servicing operations for the company's $234 billion portfolio of 1.1 million loans. He also previously served as PHH's vice president of originations. Prior to PHH, Robinson held roles at Genworth Financial and General Electric.
