ARIZONA

Phoenix-Community Bank of Arizona said that financial lenders Ivy Voss and Laurie Hallums have joined the commercial real estate lending division at the bank's Central Avenue location.

Ms. Voss has assumed the position of senior vice president of commercial real estate lending and Ms. Hallums that of vice president and commercial loan officer.

Ms. Voss was most recently a senior vice president with Irwin Union Bank in Phoenix, and prior to that was a vice president with Wells Fargo Bank and Bank USA.

Ms. Hallums comes to Community Bank of Arizona from Compass Bank, where she was vice president and senior business banker, and prior to that was with JPMorgan Chase & Co.

CALIFORNIA

San Francisco-First Republic Bank said that John Cunningham has been appointed relationship manager.

Mr. Cunningham brings 14 years of financial services and real estate experience.

Prior to joining First Republic, he worked for First Federal Bank for five years as vice president of income property lending in San Diego, and earlier in his career worked for World Savings and Loan.

Westlake Village-AmeriFund Lending named Todd Shillington as the new national sales manager, responsible for national development of its independent loan officer network and broker partners.

Mr. Shillington joins AmeriFund with experience in real estate finance, including business management, business development and sales management.

He previously served as district manager of GMAC Mortgage and senior mortgage broker with Mainstreet Mortgage Group.

ILLINOIS

Chicago-Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP said that Lorie Soares Lazarus has joined the firm as a Los Angeles-based partner in its real estate practice.

Prior to her arrival at Katten, Ms. Lazarus was a partner in the real estate practice at Holland & Knight LLP in Los Angeles.

She concentrates her practice on the representation of domestic and international commercial banks and other institutional lenders, institutional investment funds, REITS and other entities, in connection with a wide variety of commercial real estate matters across the country.

MICHIGAN

Oxford-The board of directors of Oxford Bank, a subsidiary of Oxford Bank Corp., appointed Jerry V. Farstvedt to senior loan officer.

His responsibilities will include the supervision of all activities related to the bank's commercial banking and consumer loan departments, the bank's mortgage subsidiary, Oxford Bank Mortgage Services, and its compliance and loss prevention apparatus.

He began his 18-year career with Oxford Bank as an assistant vice president and commercial loan officer in August 1988 and was promoted to vice president in December 1995 and to senior vice president in January 2004.

MINNESOTA

Minneapolis-Dexma has appointed John Van Ryn to the position of vice president of business development.

Mr. Van Ryn previously was vice president of product development for Dexma and has been with the company since 2002.

Prior to joining Dexma, he was associate partner/senior principal with PriceWaterhouseCoopers Consulting and also was a senior manager at Accenture, responsible for identifying strategic solutions and project implementation.

NEW YORK

Melville-Lender Lead Solutions named David Cook vice president of sales for the Western wholesale division.

Prior to joining Lender Lead Solutions, Mr. Cook was regional vice president of Financial Freedom, managing the Central region.

He has also previously held management positions in both retail and wholesale lending organizations, including Homestead Savings, Bank of America, Harbor Financial and Countrywide Home Loans.

He has more than 40 years experience in the mortgage industry and began his career as a loan officer in Irving, Texas.

New York-K&L Gates has named Beth L. Golden as a partner in the firm's New York office.

Ms. Golden served as a deputy attorney general for New York State from 1999-2004, during which time she headed a number of litigation and policy initiatives into Wall Street research practices and mutual fund abuses.

From 2004-06, she was senior managing director and head of regulatory affairs at the Bear Stearns.

Previously, she served as a federal prosecutor in the United States attorney's office in Minnesota as well as an associate independent counsel during the Whitewater investigation.

OHIO

Cleveland-KeyBank Real Estate Capital appointed David Shillington to the position of senior vice president and director of agency lending.

Mr. Shillington, a 20-year industry veteran, will be relocating from Key's Charlotte, N.C., office to work with the agency department located in Dallas.

As head of the agency lending group, he will be leading the group that originates Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Federal Housing Administration loans.

TEXAS

Houston-Charles Newcomb has joined Home Retention Services Inc. as chief operating officer.

Previously, he held positions as the senior vice president of investor delivery for Aegis Wholesale Corp. and as its senior vice president of national operations.

Mr. Newcomb's experience also includes 19 years as regional vice president of consumer lending for Great Western Bank in Southern California.

Houston-First Houston Mortgage named Candace Jones its retail branch manager of its corporate office in Houston.

Prior to joining First Houston Mortgage, Ms. Jones served as a branch manager for Wells Fargo, where she led a team of home mortgage consultants.

Before Wells Fargo, she worked for the Houston Chronicle in the real estate advertising department.

ENGLAND

London-Steven Crawshaw, group chief executive of Bradford & Bingley plc, has been named chairman of the Council of Mortgage Lenders for 2008. He succeeds Jon Pain, former managing director of Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Mark Parsons, Barclays managing director of home finance, and Richard Brown, managing director in the Bank of Ireland's personal lending unit, become this year's deputy chairmen.

Mr. Crawshaw has been group chief executive of Bradford & Bingley since March 2004.

He started his career as a litigation solicitor and since switching to banking has held positions at Cheltenham and Gloucester, Lloyds TSB and Bradford & Bingley.

RUSSIA

Moscow-Simon Elliott has joined Baker Botts LLP's Moscow office as special counsel to head up the firm's Russian real estate practice.

In addition to advising clients on targeted real estate and joint venture matters, Mr. Elliott provides legal advice to developers and contractors on real estate and construction issues.

Before joining Baker Botts, he worked at Linklaters' London and Moscow offices handling a wide range of corporate development real estate, construction and landlord and tenant matters.
