Mark Elliot

Senior Vice President, Consumer Banking

As Senior Vice President of Capital One’s National Direct Bank, Mark Elliot is responsible for managing the business strategy for all products sold in the Direct Bank segment, including new product development. In this role he manages the pricing, profitability, and marketing analytics for a national online portfolio.Prior to his current role, Mark held various leadership positions within Capital One, including Managing Vice President for the Marketing and Analysis area for the Banking segment. In this role, Mark led a team of more than fifty marketing and customer analysis professionals tasked with executing the mail, internet and mass marketing efforts across all deposit and lending products. Mark evaluated and drove product innovations in both branch-based and direct banking areasMark joined Capital One in 2001 in the Strategy Group in Boston, and led the corporate development strategy efforts leading up to the acquisition of Hibernia.Before joining Capital One, Mark served in various leadership roles at several financial services institutions, including Mainspring, The Parthenon Group, and Goldman Sachs. At Mainspring he was responsible for managing case teams that engaged in the development of strategies for financial services corporations and private equity firms. While at the Parthenon Group, Mark managed various projects including developing the retirement product strategy for a mid-sized insurance company /asset manager and preparing the international strategy for a major hospitality company. Mark earned his Bachelors Degree in Government and his MBA with Honors from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. Mark serves on the MiCasa, Inc. Board which is a nonprofit provider of affordable housing in the Washington, DC area. Mark is also an avid rowing aficionado and lives with his family in Washington, DC.
