Meanwhile, General Property Trust has reported that Sydney-based property company Westfield Group has acquired about 4.4% of GPT shares, noting that it believes the market should be aware of the information in relation to merger proposals under consideration by GPT.Westfield Group, which pegged its stake in GPT at 4.8% rather than 4.4%, said it purchased the majority of that investment between July and September of this year. Westfield said it first informed GPT that it was investing in its shares on Oct. 11, and told GPT on "four separate occasions" of its investment, as required by law. GPT said it was not aware of Westfield's holding until Nov. 12.
