LoanDepot has promoted Chris Smith to be its president, direct lending.

Smith has more than 15 years of experience leading mortgage sales and processing teams. Prior to his promotion, Smith was the executive vice president, direct lending at loanDepot.

He joined loanDepot from Discovery Home Loans, where he was the senior vice president of production; he had the same job at Discovery's predecessor, LendingTree Loans.

SANTA ANA

Stearns Lending has named Tony Taveekanjana as executive vice president, national head of retail lending.

Prior to joining Stearns, he served as divisional vice president at Movement Mortgage, where he was responsible for growth and profitability in the Western division.

Earlier in his career, Taveekanjana held positions at New Penn Financial, Fifth Third Bank and Countrywide Home Loans.

New American Funding said that its co-founder and president, Patty Arvielo, has been named to the Consumer Advisory Board.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau appointed Arvielo to a three-year term as one of its new board members.

As a board member, she will advise CFPB's leadership on a broad range of consumer financial issues and emerging market trends.

Arvielo brings 35 years of mortgage experience to the board, which includes managing operations and sales for New American Funding.

WASHINGTON

The Collingwood Group said that Justin Burch has joined the company as managing director and head of the federal housing practice.

As the firm's federal housing practice leader, Burch will manage the delivery of business advisory services to financial services clients that require resolution of federal business and regulatory issues associated with federal housing programs.

His most recent experience was leading FHA's quality assurance and counterparty risk management activities.

Home Point Financial Corp. said that Chad Patton has been named executive managing director, chief strategy officer.

Patton has over 20 years of experience in the mortgage and financial industry and prior to joining Home Point he served as executive vice president at Nationstar Mortgage.

Previously, he was managing director at Lone Star Funds, where he oversaw financial services private equity investments, including the formation and growth of Caliber Home Loans.

TH Real Estate, an affiliate of asset manager Nuveen, has appointed Melissa Reagen head of research for the Americas region.

Reagen is based in New York and joins TH Real Estate after four years with MetLife Investment Management.

Previously, she created the Americas research platform for Aberdeen Asset Management and held a research and strategy role at LaSalle Investment Management.

Primary Residential Mortgage Inc. has named Lori Marrow as branch manager to its newest office in Newport News.

Marrow comes to PRMI with 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry and will be responsible for the overall management of the branch and recruitment.

Previously, she was a mortgage loan consultant with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
