Lenders started and completed more foreclosures in Worcester County, Mass., during January than they did at the same time last year, new data show.
Lenders launched 162 new foreclosures during the month, up about 5 percent over the same month a year ago, according to The Warren Group of Boston.
Lenders also completed 103 foreclosures in Worcester County during January, up about 27 percent over a year ago, The Warren Group said.
Statewide, new foreclosure actions dropped nearly 3 percent during January from the same month last year, and completed foreclosures were up nearly 45 percent, The Warren Group said. Worcester County led all counties in new and completed foreclosures.
