Casey-Landry joined ABA as its No. 2 executive in 2007, after helping merge the America's Community Bankers, a mostly thrift trade group, into the larger ABA.

She served as president of ACB for eight years until the merger and previously worked at the Independent Community Bankers of America.

"The last decade has been a tumultuous one for our industry, but one that resulted in challenging and important work for the industry's trade associations," Casey-Landry said in a statement. "With the transition from Ed Yingling to Frank Keating, it's time for me to move on and allow Frank to bring in his own management team, and for me to take on new challenges."

Casey-Landry will stay involved with ABA on membership issues while she decides her next career move. Casey-Landry had been considered a top candidate to lead the trade group before it announced it had tapped Frank Keating, the former head of the American Council of Life Insurers, as its next president.
