The latest average weekly rate for a Freddie Mac 30-year fixed-rate mortgage beat the previous week's survey-record low by a hair, but the average 15-year FRM rate rose slightly.
The average 30-year FRM rate was 4.57% for the week ending July 8, down from 4.58% the previous week, and 5.20% a year ago.
The 15-year rate in the latest week was 4.07%, up from 4.04% the previous week but down from 4.69% a year ago.
The average rate for a five-year hybrid Treasury indexed adjustable-rate mortgage was 3.75%, down from 3.79% the previous week and 4.82% a year ago.
The average one-year Treasury ARM rate was 3.75%, down from 3.80% the previous week and 4.82% a year ago, according to Freddie Mac.
Average points were 0.7 for all the aforementioned types of loans.
