Banks Pass Settlement Monitor's Tests for First Half of 2015

All servicers that are part of the national mortgage settlement — except Ocwen Financial — passed metrics testing in the first half of the year, according to the settlement's monitor.

Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Ditech Financial, SunTrust Banks and Wells Fargo were all tested for compliance with the settlement. None failed metrics components of the test, said Joseph A. Smith Jr., the Raleigh, N.C.-based settlement monitor.

"Servicers are adhering to the settlement's servicing rules, which aim to give borrowers better experiences," Smith said in a news release. "Among six servicers and over six months, my professionals and I uncovered no fails."

Results for Ocwen are not included in Smith's latest round of results, because the monitor is continuing to subject the company to testing. Smith said he will release those results as soon as the testing is completed. Ocwen failed four servicing tests for the second half of 2014.

The original top four banks to the national mortgage settlement — Bank of America, Citigroup, JPMorgan and Wells Fargo — have paid out all of their consumer relief, and their compliance requirements ended on Oct. 4. However, Smith will continue reporting on their performance through early 2016.
