E-Signing Helps Streamline Document Management

The ability to electronically sign the 4506-T form has helped streamline document management, but it has some nuances to it.

Jonathan Kunkle, president of the document management division at LenderLive Network, told this publication one of the fine points is that the law requires that the consumer can open and read the document, something that a particular type of document and lack of a particular document reader could bar.

He said this can be addressed by embedding a reader in the technology.

But he said the ability to e-sign the tax information verification document is still a “big win” because it was the “last hurdle” in the ability to sign predisclosures in origination transactions.
