The percentage of Americans who believe it is a good time to sell a home spiked in May to the highest level in three years, according to a Fannie Mae survey.
The monthly survey found that 40% of respondent homeowners and renters said now is a good time to sell, up from 30% in April and 16% a year ago.
“Sentiment toward selling a home appears to be catching up with the strengthening housing market,” said Fannie chief economist Doug Duncan.

The May survey results “may foreshadow a gradual return to more normal levels of housing supply,” Duncan said.
The survey shows that 76% of respondents believe it is a good time to buy a home, up 5 percentage points from April.
