CEO Anthony Hsieh said in a press release, “In less than four years, loanDepot has grown to become one of the largest independent retail mortgage lenders in the country. The addition of our Plano office ensures that we have access to the key talent needed to deliver the competitive rates and high standard of service our customers deserve.”

The company has been based in Foothill Ranch, Calif. It has offices in Scottsdale, Ariz. and Brentwood, Tenn. as well.

“One of our main priorities is to continue to expand opportunities and promote Plano as one of the most desirable cities in the entire country in which to do business,” said Plano mayor Harry LaRosiliere. “We are proud that such a wonderful leader in the mortgage and finance business has chosen Plano for the addition of the first-class loanDepot facilities and the new professional jobs they will bring to Plano.”

loanDepot estimates it will have close to 250 employees in the Plano office within the first nine months of operations. In the March announcement, it said it looked to have 500 employees in Plano within three years.

In the latest release it said plans are for the office to eventually house over 1,000 employees. When asked about the increase a spokeswoman said, "Our growth matches the demands of consumers looking to buy a home or refinance. The availability of an experienced and talented workforce allows us to make the Dallas area the growth center for the company over the next few years."
