A former RESPA attorney at HUD, Markison joined the MBA in 2004 and now he will be the trade group’s vice president and regulatory counsel.

“MBA and its members are very fortunate to have someone with Ken’s depth and breadth of knowledge working on their behalf,” said MBA’s president and chief executive David Stevens.

“Ken’s understanding of the mortgage regulatory landscape, and how new rules and regulations will impact operations of MBA member firms, is without peer.”

With the ongoing implementation of the qualified mortgage rule, new mortgage disclosures and other DFA requirements, “his expertise and leadership is needed now more than ever,” Stevens added.

Markison worked at HUD for 32 years before joining MBA.
