It was a green day for the component stocks of the Mortgage Industry Equity Composite on Friday, as 15 of the 17 members finished above their
Only KB Home, down 2.94%, and Redwood Trust, down 0.16%, lost value on a day the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up over 149 points, closing above 14,000 for the first time since October 2007.
While MGIC Investment Corp., gained a healthy 2.88%, for the first time in three days it was not the leading MIEC gainer. For Friday, that honor belonged to rival Radian, up 5.29%. The other stocks with large percentage increases were Ellie Mae, up 4.09%, and Bank of America, up 3.45%.
