NeighborWorks America’s current CEO Kenneth D. Wade is leaving the nonprofit community development organization for a leadership position with Bank of America.
The megabank hired Wade for the newly created position of senior community affairs executive.
Wade will focus on further enhancing B of A’s relationships “with key organizations in community development, neighborhood stabilization, and customer policy.”
The hire follows previous measures aiming to expand the dialogue between the lender, consumer advocates and its community partners, B of A said.
Wade will report to Andrew Plepler, the bank’s global corporate social responsibility and consumer policy executive, whose responsibilities were only last year expanded to include consumer policy.
While Plepler’s previous experience included developing housing and community initiatives with the Fannie Mae Foundation, Wade was in charge of a 330 person organization with a $300 million budget designed to provide training, technical and financial support to over 3,000 community organizations.
