The stock market recovered on Tuesday some of the value it lost on Monday, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 72 points.

There were 11 of 17 members of the Mortgage Industry Equity Composite which closed higher, five lower, and one, Bank of America, closed unchanged.
Hudson City Bancorp gained 2.4% during Tuesday's trading, followed by Fiserv, up 2%, and OceanFirst Financial, up 1.6%.
Ellie Mae had the largest loss, with its stock price declining by 2%. The other four stocks which closed lower all lost less than 1%
