  • Marielle Jan de Beur has been named to head global commercial mortgage-backed securities research at Bear, Stearns & Co., New York.Ms. Jan de Beur, a managing director, will be responsible for providing advice and analysis for investors on the CMBS and commercial debt obligation markets. She was most recently head of U.S. CMBS research at Morgan Stanley, and she was previously a senior analyst for Legg Mason Wood Walker's real estate equity research group, Bear Stearns said.   • Wes Iseley and Arvin Wijay have been hired by Morgan Stanley Credit Corp. in Orange County, Calif., to help build "a world-class wholesale [mortgage] lending platform," according to Morgan Stanley.Mr. Iseley, as executive vice president, will head the company's wholesale mortgage lending operations, and Mr. Wijay will hold the title of senior vice president. Mr. Iseley, 47, has more than 25 years of experience in the subprime mortgage industry, Morgan Stanley said. He most recently held responsibilities for sales, servicing, operations, and support at Fremont General Investment & Loan, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based mortgage originator where he was employed for five years. Before that, he was at Associates First Capital for 19 years, Morgan Stanley said. Mr. Wijay, 38, has over 12 years of experience in financial analysis and planning.

  • Colleen Hernandez has been named president and executive director of the Homeownership Preservation Foundation, Minneapolis, effective July 5.Ms. Hernandez was executive director of the Kansas City Neighborhood Alliance for 18 years, and she was most recently the principal of Hernandez Consulting LLC, which specializes in affordable housing and community development. She served on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City for six years and on the Consumer Advisory Council to the Federal Reserve Board, the Homeownership Preservation Foundation said. Duehring has been named president of Alliance Bancorp, a conduit, wholesale lender, and securitizer of residential mortgage-backed securities based in Brisbane, Calif.Ms. Duehring will be responsible for directing the company's Warehouse Lending Group and secondary marketing. Before joining Alliance, she was executive vice president at Impac Cos., Newport Beach, Calif., where she was employed from 1995 to 2005. Ms. Duehring was previously with Imperial Credit Industries, Glenfed Mortgage Corp., and RNG Mortgage/California Mortgage Service.

  • The American Securitization Forum has named two newly elected executives to head its residential mortgage-backed securities subforum.The group said Jordan Schwartz, a partner with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, and Bill Felts, senior vice president at CitiMortgage, will be serving as co-chairs of the RMBS subforum. The elections took place at the organization's annual meeting in New York. Among other notable mortgage executives elected to posts at the forum was David Spector, senior managing director at Countrywide Home Loans, who has been named a new member of the ASF's board.

  • Gregory S. Tornquist has been named president and chief operating officer of Cenlar FSB, a Ewing, N.J.-based savings bank specializing in subservicing mortgage loans and home equity lines of credit.Cenlar also announced the appointment of Stephen W. Gozdan as the bank's chief financial officer and of Jeanne M. Bader as its director of loan administration. Mr. Tornquist joined Cenlar in 1987, and he was named CFO in 1998 and executive vice president in 2004. He was elected to the Cenlar Capital Corp. board of directors in 1999 and to the Cenlar FSB board in 2005, Cenlar said. Mr. Gozdan joined Cenlar in 1997 as senior vice president and COO, and he has been responsible for the company's servicing operations, corporate services, and technology departments, among other things.   • Virginia Martinez has been named senior vice president for the Southern California region of Metrocities Mortgage LLC, a residential mortgage lender based in Sherman Oaks, Calif.Ms. Martinez, a previous employee at Metrocities, will be responsible for managing the Sherman Oaks Loan Center, working with the company's MetroAmerica Division for expanding markets, and providing support for the Santa Barbara and Pasadena loan centers, Metrocities said. Ms. Martinez has had 25 years of experience in the financial industry, including 13 years in mortgage banking, the company said.   • Al Crisanty has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president and national production manager of American Brokers Conduit, the wholesale division of American Home Mortgage Investment Corp., a mortgage real estate investment trust based in Melville, N.Y.Mr. Crisanty will oversee the company's wholesale production on a nationwide basis, ABC said. "The new position has been created to effectively manage ABC's unprecedented growth and is part of an overall reorganization of the company, which includes expanding its regions nationally from two (East and West) to five (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Intermountain, and West)," the company said. Mr. Crisanty joined ABC in August 2003 as senior vice president of Western sales. He previously headed national production for Capitol Commerce Mortgage and held senior executive positions in secondary marketing, correspondent lending, and wholesale production over the past 24 years, ABC said.
