(This blog, bringing President Truman’s dictum “the buck stops here” into the digital age, consists of comments and story feedback forms that come to me from readers of nationalmortgagenews.com and affiliated sites, with my own occasional comments in reply. I invite your feedback, positive or negative, on anything that’s on our website. Note that by clicking “send” you consent to your remarks appearing on this blog. YOU GOT IT WRONG
Story_Title: Owner-Occupants Few and Far Between in So. Fla.
Story_Date: Monday, October 3, 2011
Comments: Article misleading because second home owner and owner occupants are counted the same for conventional financing and agency condo approval. Although the percentage listed of owner occupants may be accurate, the remaining owners are not all investors. Most are second home/ seasonal residents; hence, they do not apply for homestead exemption.

Editor’s reply: Sounds as if it is the way they are counted is misleading, and should change!

Editor’s reply: The biggest mortgage fraud sentence I remember was for 99 years! Guess which state? (Texas) In that one the judge explained that he was sentencing this person for an additional two years for every lie she told the court. Apparently the judge thought there were many!
YOU GOT IT WRONG, PART TWO
Story_Title: ReMax Finds Higher Home Sales in 53 Markets
Story_Date: Friday, September 16, 2011
Comments: First paragraph is incorrect. Year over year gains were seen in 47 of 53 markets, not all 53 (according to the press release).
