Umpqua Bank, Roseburg, Ore., is expanding its commercial real estate lending operations by upgrading its structure to be a division of the bank and promoting John Swanson to senior vice president and commercial real estate manager.
Swanson is based in Seattle and his duties will include the expansion of the bank's products and portfolios. The new division will provide developers and investors with construction loans, portfolio loans and interim loans on income producing properties.
The division will lend in Oregon, Washington, California and Northern Nevada, areas where the bank has a retail footprint.
Swanson joined Umpqua Bank in 2010 and has more than 30 years experience, primarily focused on income property project financing. Previously he was a senior vice president and Seattle market manager for U.S. Bank Commercial Real Estate.
