Fannie Issues Nearly $8B of Multifamily Securities in 2Q13

Fannie Mae issued $7.6 billion of multifamily mortgage-backed securities in 2Q13 from newly originated loans as well as resecuritizing $3 billion of Delegated Underwriting and Servicing MBS through its Fannie Mae Guaranteed Multifamily Structures program.

There were three Fannie Mae GeMS REMIC transactions, two over $1 billion (including one priced in June) and one over $911 million. In addition, through the ACES program, Fannie Mae issued two multifamily REMICs backed by $692 million of dealer-contributed DUS MBS in the second quarter of 2013, adding to the liquidity of Fannie Mae DUS MBS.

Fannie Mae Capital Markets sold approximately $5.5 billion of multifamily mortgage securities from its portfolio in the second quarter of 2013, the agency said.
