Prospect Promotes Amy Brandt to COO

Prospect Mortgage has promoted Amy Brandt to chief operating officer. The company hired her in November 2012 as its president of correspondent lending and servicing.

Immediately prior to joining to Prospect, Brandt had been CEO of Vantium Capital Inc., which she formed in 2007 with Apollo LP, a private equity firm. But most notably, she was CEO and president of WMC Mortgage, one of the leading players in the subprime mortgage origination business which had been bought by GE in 2004 and shut down in 2007 because of the crisis.

In a press release, Prospect Mortgage CEO Ron Bergum said, "Amy understands how to build a successful business and she will now play a critical role in guiding the growth of our operations platform.

"This new role will let her fully utilize her strengths as we continue to establish our position as an industry leader. It represents another step in the growth of our company and a significant expansion of the breadth and depth of the talent in our executive leadership team."
