Colony Financial in Los Angeles Plans Capital Raise

Colony Financial in Los Angeles seeks to raise as much as $150.9 million through a common stock offering and use the funds to repay a revolving credit facility.

It will sell 7 million shares of common stock and has granted the underwriter an option to purchase up to an additional 1.1 million shares, Colony said Friday. The offering is expected to close Wednesday.

Colony will also use the capital to fund additional investments and for working capital and general corporate purposes.

Colony is a real estate finance and investment company that acquires, originates and manages a portfolio of real estate-related investments. Earlier this year the company raised $145 million through a preferred stock offering.
