Departing Freddie Exec Renzi Lands at Citi

Freddie Mac executive Anthony Renzi has accepted a senior mortgage job with Citigroup, after weighing a position with Wilbur Ross’ fast-growing mortgage empire, according to industry sources.

National Mortgage News tweeted about Renzi’s job offers on its website early Monday afternoon.

CitiMortgage of O’Fallon, Mo., is the nation’s third largest residential lender and fourth largest servicer, according to figures compiled by NMN and the Quarterly Data Report.

Renzi, who joined Freddie Mac last spring as part of a major reorganization at the GSE, resigned from the company effective May 11.

At Freddie he holds the title of executive vice president of single-family business, operations and information technology. He joined the company in April 2011 after being forced out of GMAC Mortgage.
