SunTrust Mortgage hired former MetLife Home Loans executive Linda Steiner as a regional wholesale manager based in the Pacific Northwest area.
Joining Steiner at SunTrust are former MetLife account executives Fay Hoffman, Jill Mannion and Sophia Bereket. All three will report to Steiner.
One mortgage recruiter described Hoffman as a production “machine.” According to a recent ranking, she has been one of the nation’s top-producing wholesale AEs in the nation the past two years, gathering $410 million and $417 million of product through loan brokers, respectively.
Steiner worked at MetLife’s mortgage division until earlier this year when the insurance conglomerate parent decided to exit the production business entirely. She had joined the company in January 2009 when the firm was in a growth mode.
During her career Steiner also worked as a division manager at CitiMortgage from 2002 through 2008.
According to figures compiled by National Mortgage News and the Quarterly Data Report, SunTrust Mortgage, Richmond, Va., is the nation’s ninth largest wholesaler as ranked by volume.
